John
H. Goffstein,
has been
specializing in labor and employment law for over 40
years. He was the first Chairman of the Employment Law
Section of the St. Louis Metropolitan Bar Association,
and served as President of the St. Louis County Bar
Association. He was an Editor of the ABA publication,
The Developing Labor Law from 1980 to 1990. Mr.
Goffstein received both his B.S. and his J.D. from the
University of Missouri, and was named Outstanding Young
Lawyer of St. Louis County in 1976. He is also a member
of the St. Louis City Circuit Court’s Mediation Panel
and currently serves as a special counsel to the Office
of the City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney. Mr. Goffstein
was appointed by Governor Carnahan and unanimously
confirmed by the Missouri Senate to serve as Director of
the Certificate of Need Program for the State of
Missouri overseeing hospital and nursing home care and
construction of facilities. He was appointed by
the Missouri Supreme Court and served for eight (8)
years as a Member of the Disciplinary Committee of the
Missouri Bar Association to secure the enforcement of
ethical rules pertaining to lawyer conduct for Region X
(Twenty-First Judicial Circuit), in St. Louis County.
He was appointed by Mayor Francis Slay to serve a three
year term as one of three City Representatives for
the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District ("MSD").
He currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Agency which
regulates
federal and state funding of clean air and water
projects. He is a member of Missouri Bar and is admitted to practice
before the United States Supreme Court, the Eighth
Circuit, and the Eastern District of Missouri. |
